What is AppWizard?
AppWizard is a development tool. It is not a solution unto itself,
but rather gives you the ability to develop solutions rapidly.
AppWizard is a web-service which uses a Microsoft SQL (MSSQL) or Microsoft
SQL Desktop Edition (MSDE) database as a back-end. All applications are
built using AppWizard and stored in the database. On request the
web-service dynamically renders the applications to be viewed using a
web-browser (Internet Explorer).
All AppWizard security profiles, AppWizard application development, and
AppWizard applications are handled by the AppWizard web-service. Using a
web-browser, you can therefore access any service on AppWizard from any client
computer on your network.
What functionality is currently supported in AppWizard?
Currently AppWizard has functions for forms, tables, links, edit boxes,
password boxes, text boxes, combo boxes, check boxes, buttons, grids (a
combination of tables, forms, and some scripting), restricted security access,
database table access, SQL statement access, stored procedures, process flow (if
statements and for loops), basic variable manipulations, parameters sending,
graphs, file uploading, and redirecting to other applications.
What are the System Requirements?
AppWizard currently only runs on Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Server)
available on Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Small Business Server and Windows XP
Professional.
You require a Microsoft SQL database. For this you can either install
SQL Server (available commercially) or you can download MSDE (Microsoft SQL
Desktop Edition) from www.microsoft.com.
The optimal Installation instructions for MSDE is included in the AppWizard
installation guide.
You can base the requirements for the hardware on the recommendations of
Microsoft for the various operating systems. You require an additional
5MB disk space for AppWizard. As you build more applications, the database
space requirements will grow.
How can you apply AppWizard in your organization?
AppWizard is a tool which enables you to build applications which will
support the business processes within your organization. As no two
organizations are alike, these applications will probably need to be developed
specifically for your company.
Please have a look at the Applications section on this site to see what
applications we have already developed at some of our customers.
How does the licensing work?
AppWizard is licensed on a per user basis. Each user accessing AppWizard must
have a license. For sites with more than 500 users a site license can be
provided, allowing unlimited users and applications.
Licenses are paid once off. No annual subscription fees or support fees are
charged.
You can download AppWizard DEMO for free. The DEMO copy allows you a
single user access as well as up to 50 Applications. You can add more
users and more applications, but a page will be returned indicating that the
limit has been exceeded.
Please view the license pricing on our Pricing page.
What about upgrades?
We are continuously improving AppWizard and expanding it to our customer's
needs. For this reason free upgrades are made available on a regular
basis.
You can download the latest upgrade for free from our Downloads page.
An upgrade to the system will not affect your licenses in any way. You can
even keep up to date if you just install the DEMO version.
When a major upgrade is made, (e.g. from version 3 to 4) you will have the
option to upgrade to the higher version for an upgrade fee. This upgrade
is not compulsory and you can remain on the older version. No upgrades or
patches will be made available for the older versions, but if it works for you,
there is no need to upgrade.
Is training and
support available?
Full training courses is available for every aspect of AppWizard, and we even
provide an SQL training course to ensure that your developers are skilled in
handling the database side of the AppWizard development.
We have highly skilled project managers, developers, and trainers available
to equip and assist you into getting the most out of your installation of
AppWizard.
